Happy to kayak!
Buy Your Own!
Great end of the season deals on new and used canoes and kayaks.

Canoes offer the chance for two people to work together while paddling downstream.

There are two molded seats for canoeing in comfort.

A maximum of a third adult or two small children can be added, sitting on the canoe floor.

Our canoes are all Old Town 158 or 169's, which have two seats.

Try a kayak for the third person.

For a large family that would like to stay together, we recommend a raft.

Kayak

Most kayaks are one man vessels, where the paddler sits down in the boat. They  are generally easier to maneuver, but a little bit tippier than a canoe. When handled by an experienced paddler, kayaks tend to be faster then canoes..

The kayak options available at Hocking Hills Canoe Livery are described below.

All of our kayaks are good for beginners. The paddler is not sealed in the cockpit and no rolling is necessary.

Dagger Zydeco

Great for beginners -- has a wide opening around the seat, designed to dump a paddler if they capsize their boat.

Old Town Helix

A sit-on-top kayak, which is completely open. It works well with smaller children and those looking to get wet.

Dagger Element

Also good for beginners, this kayak has a sleeker design to move through the water more quickly.

Old Town Twin Otter
A two person sit in kayak.

Old Town Double Helix
A two person sit on top kayak.

Raft

Rafts are a fun way for a family or a group of friends to stay together.  It is a great way to get people with little experience out on the water to see nature's beauty in the trees, flowers and animals found along the river. They are great for families with small children or senior citizens.

Our rafts can hold either 4-6 people or 6-8 people.

Rafts typically move slower than canoes, giving you the time to stop and smell the honeysuckle.

Raft are available for Trip A -- Crockett's Trip, our five mile trip, with a paddling time of 2-3 hours.

Rafts only run at certain water levels. Please check for availablility.
